Welcome to our first Samahita Wellness Newsletter!
Samahita Wellness is the Wellness Center at Samahita Retreat, set up to complement yoga practices and promote healthy, balanced living, whether a long term practitioner or new to yoga. Over the years of offering yoga we were always in a position of advising about diet and healthy living but never with the facility to offer these services. As this is also our passion and interest we felt the need to develop a center, Samahita Wellness, to offer exactly those services and advice.
The word Samahita means 'balanced' in Sanskrit and it is healthy, balanced living which our center promotes through its programs, retreats, therapies and educational offerings.
The purpose of Samahita Wellness is to offer both therapy and education; helping people to heal themselves as well as offering them the knowledge and skills to make lasting, positive changes in their lives. This is obvious for one who has been living in an unbalanced and unhealthy way but is also true for one in yoga a long time and missing that vital education on diet and health.
Our newsletter aims to give you regular updates on our Wellness Center and its offerings, inform you of upcoming Wellness Retreats and offer you tips and suggestions for healthy, balanced living that you can incorporate into your daily life.
Upcoming themes include nutrition and detox tips plus how to make healthy homemade supplements, have a healthy mind for a healthy body and a spotlight on healing therapies.
We are regularly adding articles and information on our website covering a variety of topics from various authors. Please continue to check in to learn about the keys to lasting health and how to manage your body and mind.
We offer 3,5,7 and 10 day personalized detox programs to suit your needs and goals. Our programs are influenced by both ayurveda and modern science and nutrition to bring our guests a well-rounded, fully supported detox. Our experience has shown that our specific (and enjoyable) detox diet combined with our formula of detoxifying therapies gives excellent cleansing results. Please see our guest feedback for reviews.
For those who still want to indulge in our delicious home cooked food, enjoy some complementary therapies and keep up a yoga practice, we have created three Balanced Living Programs, Simple, Radiant and Pure, each one designed to suit your health needs and the needs of your schedule.
Our 'Yoga and Your Health' retreat offers a practical approach to a healthy, balanced diet and lifestyle. On a 'Yoga and Your Health Retreat' you will enjoy delicious home cooked meals with the addition of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, wheatgrass juice and nutritious, healthy supplements. On the practical side we include a healthy cooking class, self-massage and reflexology, healthy living talks, discussion and Q&A sessions, plus of course twice daily asana and breathwork sessions.
Those who wish to relax and rebalance further can do so by adding on one of our Samahita Wellness Balanced Living packages, the perfect complement to the retreat program.
